Assessing Environmental Fit: Ethics and Practicality in ABA Service Delivery

This presentation will examine common ecological barriers that impact the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services and offer practical, ethically sound approaches to addressing these challenges. Participants will explore at least three frequent environmental barriers to effective service delivery and review key sections of the BACB Ethics Code that guide assessment and intervention in such contexts. The utility of ecological checklists as tools for systematically identifying environmental supports and deficits will be discussed. Additionally, a cost-benefit analysis framework will be applied to guide decisions regarding service delivery models in the presence of ecological barriers. Finally, participants will learn to develop practical and ethical solutions to support high-quality ABA services despite environmental challenges.
