Session Notes That Say Something

Session notes get written in the last four minutes of a session, in a parking lot, on a phone. This professional development event accepts that reality and gives you a structure that still produces a defensible, useful note.

You will practice describing behavior objectively, recording what actually happened with the program, and flagging the things your BCBA needs to know before the next session. You will also learn to say it in fewer words.

After completing this event, participants will be able to:

• Write objective, observable descriptions of client behavior without interpretation or diagnosis.
• Document program implementation, including deviations, in a way a supervisor can act on.
• Identify information that does not belong in a session note.
• Complete an accurate session note in under five minutes using a repeatable structure.
